The inspiration for this novel could be pulled from last week's headlines.---Well It should have been in last weeks headlines, and in last years headlines, if the FIX wasn't in. You see, our esteemed president has enabled the last bastion of true communism the ability to accurately target and deliver nuclear missiles anywhere in the world (including into the United States). Single-handedly, he has made what was a fading possibility of a nuclear holocaust a very likely probability. That is also the primary reason that India (a long time enemy of China) recently began conducting nuclear tests
Richard Marcinco was a Navy Seal- (SEALS are undoubtedly the toughest and probably the most skilled military groups extant); In fact he was the founder and commander of Seal Team Six, (possibly the best of the best). For more information on Marcinco, read my previous review on ROGUE WARRIOR.
Seal Force Alpha opens with Marcinco leading his merry band of marauders in the high-seas capture and scuttling of a Chinese ship carrying a variety of nuclear missiles and other such goodies obtained through corrupt and/or stupid U.S. political officials. In the process, he discovers that the ship is carrying something else, possibly more insidious and dangerous than the Nukes.
Mission accomplished, he heads back to HQ to find out what is going on. Now the attempted assassinations on the "good guys" begin- From our corrupt politicians and Chinese commandos. Up to this point, I wouldn't be a bit surprised if the book were fact instead of fiction, except that in this story it is just the subordinates (not the pres.) that are dirty. In real life the whole bunch are traitors and opportunists.
Marcinco deduces that the "bad guys" are going to mount a tactical nuclear attack on Taiwan from an uninhabited island not too far away. He and his merry men go there to stop it. There is a lot more to this story, but that covers the important parts.
If you have read the earlier Rogue Warrior books, you won't be too surprised at this one. However, if you have any clue as to what is really happening under the current administration and on the world geopolitical scene, this story will give you more chills than Steven King.
I can recommend ROGUE WARRIOR: SEAL TEAM ALPHA to anyone. It will give you a good lesson in reality all wrapped up in an interesting, well-told adventure novel.
