I was surprised when I saw the publication date on this book- I figured it was one of the "slew" of the "millennium madness" books that have been published in the last six months. I wish that I had read it when it first came out- That would have given me a couple of years of "delicious anticipation".

This excellent story set at the last couple of days of 1999 and the first month of 2000 is about the millennium and the coming of a new Messiah (or is it the Antichrist?)

Told in the perspective of a TV news team assigned to cover the millennium change in the "Holy Land", the story combines in interesting mix of genetic experimentation, Religious factionalism, politics, prophecy and good versus evil.

The new "messiah" is a beautiful young female found in the Negev desert outside of a laboratory operated by the Israeli military after an "explosion". Jeza is able to speak all languages of the earth, she apparently can heal at a touch or even a thought. She knows every secret of the Catholic Church, and is at the center of the largest crisis of faith in history.

Is she good or evil? She seems to be the very essence of good, but not until the end of the book do we know for certain.

This isn't really a scary book although it could have been. However, it really does make you think. It is engrossing and it flows very well.

You would have enjoyed reading the story before January 2000, but guess what? As is very well explained near the end of the book, the actual millennium begins in January 2001, so something like this could still happen!

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
